I Love Horses Itinerary

Start your day at the Morgan Horse FarmUVM Morgan Horsefarm Website
74 Battell Drive, Weybridge, VT 05753, (802) 388-2011
Make sure to take the tour, as it helps you understand where things are and, especially for little ones, the guides are very patient with answering questions.

Lunch in Middlebury at Noonies DeliSee Noonies Deli Menu Online
Located in the Marbleworks, on your way back from the horse farm. Better yet, pick up your picnic on the way and have it at the farm. The farm has a picnic area (and bathrooms – which are always a good idea). Noonies Deli is open for Breakfast so picking up lunch before shouldn’t be a problem. In the Afternoon –A Horse & Carriage Ride or Horseback Riding
Depending on your level of activity – take your pick

For a Carriage Ride: Visit Trevin FarmsTrevin Farms Website
901 Willowbrook Road, Sudbury,Vermont, (802) 558-8600
Right here in Sudbury, only 10 minutes from the cottages. We can give you directions from Middlebury (where the Morgan Horse Farm is located) Call the day before to arrange a time. They’re open most days but only with an appointment (it takes time to get the horses suited up). Troy & Kevin (hence, Trevin) have a team of Black Percherons, or gentle giants as Trish calls them. They are French draft horses with the sweetest disposition. Troy drives either Tyrone (if it’s the carriage) or the team of Lance & Ladd on a 45 minute - 1 hour ride that includes stopping for pictures of a spectacular view of the Green Mountains. Kevin also keeps chickens (Trish & Jim enjoy their eggs for breakfast every morning) that love to be fed grass. A very special place and well worth an afternoon’s visit. 901 Willowbrook Road, Sudbury,Vermont, (802) 558-8600

For Horseback Riding: Pond Hill Ranch - Pond Hill's Website
1683 Pond Hill Ranch Rd, Castleton, Vermont 05735 (802) 468-2449 or (802) 468-0578
Comes highly recommended by former guests, although we haven’t had a chance to visit yet. Castleton is south on the 30, at the intersection with Route 4. They are open seven days a week. Rides are approximately one hour long, with longer rides available by appointment. Appointments are usually unnecessary, unless your group is over 10, or you would like a longer ride. Their knowledgeable guides will be happy to answer any of your questions. Pony rides are available for younger children, these rides last 15 minutes.
